More anecdotal support for the use of AT/oils for panic. I have panic disorder - have for years, been on and off medications. Am off now as am going to try to get pregnant soon. Most days (lately)are great, occasionally, I get a whopper out of the blue. Got one of those HUGE PA's the other day while at the vet getting my cat an echocardiogram. My heart was pounding so frickin' hard and palpitating - I really thought I was a goner - I had to sit down rather than pass out. When they took the machine and cat out of the room, I started rooting around my purse looking for something - anything to take my mind off of it - stick of gum, whatever. I found a bottle of massage oil I had made - it was rose, lavender, clary sage and roman chamomile - doesn't get much more anti-stress than that. So I put some in my hands and rubbed then, then just held the hands over my face and breathed... The results were immediate and profound releif. Now I have a small bottle of this blend in my purse. It's funny - I really rely on the oils for anxiety when flying, just never thought to keep them in my purse. My advice is find a blend (or single oil) you like too, not just one that is good for panic. Some choices are: Lavender Roman chamo Neroli Marjoram (sweet) not spanish Clary sage - this is good for the really BAD ones. ROSE Sandalwood I'm sure there are more that others can list. Panic disorder really sux. Other things that can help are cutting out caffeine, alcohol and SMOKING. Noticed a world of difference when I stopped all that. Not that YOU do those things though, just FYI. I hope this helps. I sure wouldn't wish panic on anyone. JenB
