I didn't get back to this thread sooner because I spent all day yesterday infusing herbs in olive oil and tincturing herbs in alcohol -- lots of fun, and boy, did I sneeze and clear the sinuses when I inhaled mullein leaf after spilling it. Whew! First of all, let me say that antifungal herbs are probably better for internal use, and with either the herbs or oils I recommend, it is one of those times that a blend is better than a single herb or oil, due to the synergistic action. Additionally, you'll want to 'treat' not just yourself and family members, if you believe that you have detrimental molds and mildew in your bodies, you'll have to treat the house, too. Herbs - Internally, eaten fresh, or as a tea/decoction/tincture, according to what you have on hand or need to buy): ginger, black walnut (tincture made from the fresh husk, available commercially), garlic, pau'd'arco, neem, licorice (root decoction as a tea - do not use this if you have high BP), galangal, oregon grape root, olive leaf, goldenseal, as both a tincture and body wash (make a tea for the body wash), echinacea. Be sure to stop the goldenseal when you have no signs of a fungal infection. For baths or body washes (most can and should also be taken internally, so include stuff from the list of internal herbs above): thyme, calendula, neem, anything in the mint family, lemongrass. Oils (both distilled and infused) to diffuse in the house, or to wash surfaces with, etc.: neem (to wash surfaces, clothing), oregano (again, anything in the mint family), lemon myrtle, tea tree. Pick and choose from those listed above to combat any molds and mildews that may be present.
