Guest guest
kathleen, just took a peek at your new creations. they look really neat! i don't know much if anything about candle making but are these the ones that have the harder shells that tend to not melt with the rest of the candles? if so, i've seen these done in some really creative ways lately. we live very close to an amish community called jamesport here in missouri. this little town is really a tourist trap but a nice one. full of antique shops, candle shops and scattered with alot of amish shops. several of the candle shops have these and what they've done is mount a light socket with a cord in them. then they take a light bulb, oh i'd say about the size of a small chandler light (or the large christmas bulb lights) and dip the tip of it in some thing like a rubber cement or hot glue gun glue, let it hang upside down for a minute and then flip it to make it look like a candle effect. these are then put in the socket to give it a candle like appearance. the effect is very nice and you don't have to worry about the open flame of a tea light. also, i just picked up some cling art clear film sheets that is put out by crayola. with this stuff you can creat and print your own cling art. wonder if you could use this idea to create a stain glass effect with your hurricanes also? just some thoughts on a saturday morn. deb cummings chillicothe mo. in the path of the biggest snow storm to come this way, this year. expecting 8-14 inches. >Not an ad:Me NEW Hurricane shells > >Hi everyone, > >Just thought you'd like to see what I've been doing recently.
