I have had a sinus headache since our wehter changed and the sinus blend, oregano, or anything else i've tried hasn't helped. I STILL have a headache just behind and over my right eye. I also am looking for a combo of EO's that will imitate Hawaiian White Ginger, if Cat or anyone else knows of any mix that will produce these, please let me know. TIA, Yours and His, Deonia

Does anyone have any other suggestions to help with sinus'. I know of at least two others that have written me privately with the same areas of concern. Thanks to Butche's earlier post my headache is gone, and i was the one who wanted the EO combo to mimic HWG. If i could find Cat, i know she would be able to help me with that, but i am gonna check out the site you mentioned. After using White Shoulders since i was 16 years old and recieveing a bottle of the perfume from my aunt for my birthday, i might just change . If it's smells anything like the HWG scent i recieved as a sample from a supplier, i know i will!! lol. You have been very helpful, thank you so much, Yours and His, Deonia
Guest guest
For some reason, I didn't get the original post, so I don't know if Cheryl or Deonia has the sinus problem, or who wants the Hawaiian White Ginger info, but I'll try to answer both. First, do you have clogged sinuses (aka 'a phlegm brick'), a real infection (gunk of varied colors draining), or neuralgia (nerve pain over the sinuses)? I recently cut and pasted a lot of sinus problem posts and suggested remedies from an herb list. It was a bit laborious, but I wanted to get all the info in one place. It's a six-page Word document, and at 38 kb, too big to post here, but I'll email it to anyone who requests. send me an email mccoy In the meantime, quickie answer: For all -- phlegm brick, infection, or neuralgia -- moisture, steam, hot and cold compresses. Hot food - garlic, horseradish, hot peppers, wasabi, etc. Oregano oil, rosemary oil in steam, inhaled, ingested as per Butch's instructions, if you wish. For infection: yerba mansa tincture, 5-15 drops taken as frequently as needed. Goldenseal tincture, only as long as the infection lasts. Ditto oils cited above. For neuralgia: St. John's Wort oil gently massaged on the area. Remember: if you have liquid that has 'risen', that means your liver can't process the stuff 'downward'. You need to treat your liver over time with liver support herbs like milk thistle, dandelion root, etc. You can do this by taking capsules. Make sure you know what your problem is because many mistake a stuffed head for an infection. It is overkill to treat for an infection when one doesn't exist. Is there a cough and post-nasal drip associated with the blockage? See my Word doc for information on that. For the white ginger, I can't recommend the Edward Bell naturally infused oil enough. A friend from Oahu sent me a bottle years ago, and I save it for special occasions, or like now, when I'm inspired to go put a dab on my wrists. It will last all day. His website is: http://www.mauirain.com/ Uh-oh. On the website, he says 'here's a list of available perfumes' and the ginger isn't in bold, like several other. It may be seasonal, so check. Oh, this stuff is heavenly! But, of course, you have to have clear sinuses to appreciate it, LOL. http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady

But Butch's remedy is helping me although my headache comes back after about an hour so i suspect there might be something in your suggestion about the dust and fungi. I have an old house and the carpeting is the origional so i'm sure i probably have a problem. Gonna get it ripped out as soon as i can. But, at least for now, i'm getting some relief. Thanks for the heads up on the fungus prob. Yours and His, Deonia > >

For me the infection has already been ruled out. I have the pain though. I have tried Butch's remedy and it seems to be working. Guest guest
Hi there - just getting to my emails, been very busy putting some of my products in a couple of salons. Peppermint is wonderful for sinus headaches. What I do is: take a good long sniff of the oil in each nostril. Blow my nose (because things should start loosening up in there) then take a couple of more hits of peppermint. Works like a charm, but be careful not to get the peppermint on your nose. You won't be hurt, but you will be very aware of the fact you did so. Also, people tend to look at you funny if you do this in public - makes you feel like you are reenacting a scene from the movie " Blow " :-) Blessings, Doreen - Cheryl Smith Saturday, January 31, 2004 1:30 AM Re: Sinus and Combinations to make Hawaiian White Ginger Deonia, >if you do come up with anything to > help, please let me know!! lol.
