Guest guest
Hi there, I need help rescuing a batch of soap! It is a honey soap, and I usually just cover it and don't insulate b/c I don't want the honey to burn, and it comes out perfect. But I didn't factor in how cold it has been here in New England, and how I get frostbite working in my basement workshop! ;-) So anyway, the batch came out very soft, so I feel like it didn't fully saponify. Can I save this? How? Thanks, Debbie deb Spiritual Journey Soap, for body, mind and spirit http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/soaps.php#dr-spiritual_journey_spa_soap

Guest guest
And this can be done anytime? There isn't a deadline, LOL? I ask b/c we are having our kitchen demolished and remodeled and I won't have access to my stove until this evening. Thanks so much, Jan! Guest guest
Deb, I see no reason why it should not work. Just think of it as a delayed reaction. Much like me without coffee in the am!Good luck with your kitchen and your soap. Guest guest
I think so! I cooked it like Jan suggested on Wed. night at my Mum's house, but then I left it there to cool overnight. I had her describe it to me yesterday, and it sounds like it was saved, but I am heading over there today to find out for sure. Such a funny ordeal! I wouldn't even worry about it, but this is the batch that is the favors for my sister-in-law's baby shower, so I want it to be right! :-) Debbie deb Unique and luxurious Valentine's Day specials http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/specials.php - " Chris " <chrisziggy Friday, January 30, 2004 11:06 AM Re: soap rescue help please > Hey Debbie, > > Were you able to save it? > > *Smile* > Chris (list mom) > http://www.alittleolfactory.com > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > , " Debra McDuffee " <deb@b...> > wrote: > > Hi there, > > I need help rescuing a batch of soap! > > It is a honey soap, and I usually just cover it and don't insulate > b/c I don't want the honey to burn, and it comes out perfect. Guest guest
Good show! I've NEVER had a batch of soap that turned out wrong that couldn't be saved in one way or another. There seems to always be a way to save it and fix it and turn it into something good! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com > I think so! Guest guest
Just an update for everyone who asked and offered help with my soap -- you guys are great! One of the soaps came out of the mold -- a few days in the cold basement did it! I cut it and its perfect -- yay! I am still waiting for the other one to miraculously come out of its mold on its own, just like the other did. I can't freeze it b/c my molds don't fit in the freezer! Thank you all for making my first soap rescue a success! :-) Debbie deb Unique and luxurious Valentine's Day specials http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/specials.php - " Christine Ziegler " <chrisziggy Friday, January 30, 2004 12:02 PM RE: Re: soap rescue help please > Good show! > > I've NEVER had a batch of soap that turned out wrong that couldn't be > saved in one way or another.
