Guest guest
Hey Ylva, > I'm sure that there are many good folks here that is far more > esotherical minded than my virgo self, so after debating with me, > myslef and I, whether to post this or not, I thought - what the h..k, > give it a shot. But Butch, please go gentle with me ;-D You done good by posting .. methinks it might make a nice thread for a while. You're into an area I don't often speak of but have a bit of experience with, and never would I consider myself being slightly into the esoteric. I do have some basic knowledge of Parapsychology and Psychometry. Those who discount it are generally not aware of the depth of the two areas of research .. and I almost said sciences but I don't want to start a debate on that. ;-p I will take the liberty of extending the scope of the discussion .. from just dreams to visions .. which some folks confuse. I have some basic first-hand knowledge of what some call Native American Spiritualism .. which is a fair enough term for describing the American Indian's traditional way of living each hour of the day and night. > I always have had the most fascinating dreams, some I remember, some > I don't, but they are often what I call movie like. That is, I can't > realy figure out from the dreams what goes on in my mind - but on the > other hand, maybee there is nothing to them? But they often lasts for > what seems like a very long time and involves more or less fantastic > events. Smarter folks than me will .. I hope .. address interpreting dreams. I can't interpret my dreams and I'm convinced that most of them have no meaning .. they're just events that have bounced around before that are now bumping into each other .. but that's NOT the case for all dreams. I've had so-called experts interpret some dreams for me and in many of those cases aside from the standard dogma they had different versions. So interpretations of dreams are a bit like psychoanalysis .. depends to a great degree of which school of thought a person follows. This I know a bit about too as my first university degree was in Psychology. For my second undergrad I changed majors and then went on to a graduate degree in a different field and the reason was that I caught myself doing mental case studies on my friends .. and on myself .. it got to where it was hard to look into a mirror to shave .. we were all nuts. I have had what I thought was a dream interpreted by some very wise men and I learned it was not a dream .. it was a vision .. and I learned a lot about that from these wise men. > Anyhow, the night before last I had this most amazing and strange > dream - hold on to your seats, but I dreamed I was given a power > directly from God. Nope, I'm not very religious and I haven't seen > Bruce the Almighty ;-P. This power came in a downpour of intense > white light, from abouve directely into my chest and I was given it > so I could fight evil (???) during the timespan of two days. When the > white shower hit my chest it was like I was being electricuted. I > can't remeber what happened after that, I think I woke up very > confused. When I was a child .. like 3 and 4 and 5 .. I would sometimes wake up scared .. would be white as a sheet and nervous and crying. It was tough to understand what the dreams were then but I can now remember the dreams because many years later I saw movies and such that displayed events similar to those dreams .. but it was many years later, and when my dreams were going down those events had not yet occurred. At that age .. using whatever experience and vocabulary I had, the best I could do to describe the dreams to my mother was .. that I had killed God. It was like I had caused an event to occur and while it was going down .. I was trying to undo it but I couldn't. Many years later I saw and understood what intercontinental ballistic missiles were .. and it all came back .. my dreams were about causing something to fire off that I couldn't call back and it was going to be terribly destructive. > I can't figure our where it comes from or what it symbolized - maybee > there is only too much DVD watching taking outs it's right ;-P But - > on the other hand, this could turn into a real interesting debate. So > come on, give me your best readings on this dream!!! I think it will be interesting too .. and I'm looking forward to seeing the ideas of others. I took away the OT from your subject line cause I see this as a health issue .. not a serious one and not one that would necessarily indicate illness .. but it can disturb our peace of mind. I've found that I can encourage dreams .. nice ones .. by putting a drop or three of Lavandula angustifolia or Rosa damascena on the corner of my pillow at night. I KNOW there is a GREAT difference between dreams and visions. And I BELIEVE some folks have visions but think they are dreams. I BELIEVE some other folks have visions but hesitate to discuss them as they're afraid folks will laugh at them .. or even think they're nuts. I BELIEVE in presence after so-called death .. and I KNOW there was a time when certain groups were attuned to accepting routine contact by what they (and we today) call spirits. I BELIEVE more people could have contact today if not for the cynical attitudes of most modern folks. I BELIEVE this attitude is a conflict for some folks .. especially those who see themselves as being religious .. moreso for those who accept one of the monotheistic religions. I KNOW there are wise and university trained folks who understand and accept paths most folks would not accept .. and I KNOW there are wise folks who aren't university trained who follow the same lines of thought. My point is that formal, modern education does not necessarily clear away what some call cobwebs of ignorant superstition. This is also part of the conflict of some who see themselves as being religious. I also KNOW there are some White folks and some (in my opinion) greedy First American folks who've commercialized Native American Spiritualism and hold group sessions (for a fee) where folks can pay to experience a sweat lodge or some other form of phony ceremony. This is not something that pleases the TRUE spiritual leaders but America is a free country and these cats are merely doing what some right-wing Christians do on their Sunday morning Dawg and Pony Shows .. healing and such. Finally .. I BELIEVE there is beginning to be a change of attitude by some American Indians toward teaching outsiders things about their lifestyle. To American Indians .. spiritualism is not a religion .. its a totality of existence .. every thought and action is directly linked to an unquestionable acceptance of the spirituality of man and surroundings and they're constantly open to any contact that assists them in living their spiritual existence. Its my opinion that the major differences between the American Indian beliefs and those of the Jewish, Islamic and Christian faiths (which all sprang from a single seed and then took on identities of their own) are .. that the Indians don't proselytize; they are not into saving the souls of ignorant non-believers, and the laundry list of moral principles .. the Ten Commandments .. are not lined up in the same pecking order as they are for the monotheistic followers. This new movement is from some small Lakota and Apache groups who have done much to bring their own offspring back into the spiritual fold and now believe its time to share/explain some of their spiritual beliefs with others. They are not going to proselytize or commercialize their beliefs .. they just want to make them understood. Revolutionary this ... in times past they didn't give a rat's butt if others understood or not but times change and they're adapting to the changes. > Now I go and finish decorating my jars with my more than exclusive > rose based perfume. Exclusive, since I realize that I will never be > able to recreate it, since there seems to be no black tea CO2 to be > found anywhere. Then I'm gonna make a lavender - minty kind of blend > for a new roomspray. Have fun. :-P > Fragrant Blessings, > Ylva And to you.
