Guest guest
Hey Jen, >>>Ah! ok, I see. ;-P That just sailed over my head. >> >>Gotta pay close attention to what folks say .. like we do Gore. :-P > > Eh, I think I'm just lacking my sense of humor today. Been dealing > with the military " Powers That Be " regarding getting ME into Korea. > It seems that the paperwork my Drs. filled out for them raised some > questions, now, I have to have all my records overnighted or faxed to > them. It's frustrating to call the Drs. office and explain it all to > them in a way that they can understand. I'm slighty worried that > (desite the fact there is nothing wrong with me) they will find an > excuse to keep ME here, yet send Jeff to Korea without me!! And I > wanna go!! It'll work out .. of course, Uncle Sugar doesn't want to bring family members into certain areas unless they believe they can handle this and that .. but its all necessary bureaucracy and I have never seen a legit request for accompanied status turned down .. might have to go to some extremes .. like IG and such .. but it all works itself out. My ex was a Turkish lady and back in 1967 we were PCSing to the USA .. her physical showed a scar on her lung so problems jumped up. Her BIL and sister were medical doctors and had to get all kinds of documentation translated on why it was there .. was a particular kind of parasitic scar which was found in this part of the world way back when .. and her sister had done a lot of work on treatment so we were lucky in being able to cut the red tape a bit .. and .. she showed positive on the TB test .. which was a norm because until the late 50s Turkey was not into pasteurization of milk .. folks bought it from the farms and almost all folks had been exposed. I had to extend 90 days in country to get accompanied travel .. but it worked out .. and I am confident that yours will too. :-) >>Tis true .. I lived there twice .. El Paso. Im school my younguns had >>to take Spanish classes and also classes on how to tawk with marbles in >>your mouth. > > Oh, I believe you. Good .. I like being believed when I tell tall tales .. and I like El Paso too .. and Texas .. and might just retire around SW Texas or the mountains of New Mexico .. they are on the list. >>I will talk with the dude tomorrow about that .. not sure he knows what >>it is. My son is an IBM systems engineer .. I wrote him an email >>tonight and asked his opinion .. but no telling where he is now and it >>might take a couple of days to get a reply .. he spends more time on >>the road than in Atlanta and when out and about uses a different system >>and I lost the danged address. > > The webpage is just mozilla.org you can easily DL the client. Show > that to the guy too. Thankee ma'am .. will do. > Now your son sounds like he has a nice job, driving all over our > beautiful south. Yep .. but its more all over the USA and outside the USA. When he took the job they gave him a lap top and told him to say bye-bye to his wife. He spend the days following New Year in Canada but then went to Hawaii and is scheduled to go to San Juan pretty soon. > I'll be sending you a nice virtual batch of shrimp and grits tonight. > Sound good? > JenB Thankee ma'am .. sounds larp'in gud it does. :-) I think there oughta be a law that they teach " grits appreciation " in schools .. and how to cook'em too .. danged watery grits or grits whut you can make a ball out of is justification for divorce down home. :-( I have taught lotsa Turks about grits and gravy .. so why shouldn't American Yankees wanna learn such things? ;-) Butch
