Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just a couple of questions. I have been trying to conceive, and I had some recent hormone testing done and my prolactin levels came back slightly elevated (they look for 1-22, I was 26, so not a huge deal). After I got over my disappointment at taking these last 3 and a half years to get myself healthy, and finding out that I was less healthy in some ways than I was back then, I was able to think about herbs that can help. There are conflicting things out there about vitex. Some sources say it raises, some say it lowers prolactin levels. My gut tells me that since vitex works through the pituitary, it probably does both, depending on how your body needs to be balanced. I'd love some info on this, and sources that the info comes from or that you think would be helpful to me. Also, any other herbs, besides parsley, that you all know of to help lower prolactin levels? As far as dietary things, I do not eat dairy (except occasional goat cheese which I will no longer have), and if I eat any red meat, it is naturally raised and very lean. Any other dietary considerations I can do to help this problem?
