Guest guest
Hey Chris and Everyone, I know recently the topic of stones was discussed as a result of Chris' husband having I think it was kidney stones. I would like to ask some questions about protocols. My elderly mother has a stone(s) in her right kidney and has a gall stone. This has been documented by her family doctor and through ultra sound and dye injections. I believe that the gall stone is affecting her more than the kidney stone(s). She was sent to see a specialist and he said that the gall stone(s) were too small to do anything with and to come back in 6 month's time. She was told by her family doctor to cut out fried foods, dairy and increase her intake of water. My sister-in-law arranges for meals from a company (kind of like meals on wheels) that are nutritionally balanced and are made especially for elderly with medical problems. Twenty years ago, my mother had a stroke and has been on a low sodium diet ever since. Many years ago it was also decided that she was a border line diabetic and so her sugar intake is supposed to be restricted as well. She is not very strict with the aspects of her diet that she is not supposed to have. And her opinion with respect to the specially prepared meals is that they get to be boring. So in light of this, she often switches back to cooking her own foods and most of the time her method of preparation is frying. As a result, she often ends up very sick to her stomach and then very week and lethargic. When she stays within the guidelines that her doctor gave her, 1)stick to the prepared meals, stay away from fried foods, dairy and acidic foods. 2) drink 8 to 10 glasses of water per day and 3) get out walking or doing some sort of exercise every day she seems to do quite well. When she strays away from following the doctor's guidelines then she starts throwing up etc. So I wanted to ask a couple of questions moreso to the people actually trained in medicine that are a part of this list like nurses etc. but also to those like Chris that have dealt with the stones issue in conjunction with medical professionals. First, besides an intervention that breaks the stones up into small pieces allowing them to pass on their own is there anything else that can be done by the doctor or at emergency that will help when she has strayed off the doctor's guidelines. My sister is thinking of taking her up to emergency and saying that they are not prepared to leave until something is done to help. My question to her is what are they going to do to help? Tell her to not eat fried foods etc.? Second is what methods have others tried that seem to have worked to either get rid of the stone(s) and or help with the sickness that comes along with it? Third, given that there are apparently both kidney and gall stone(s) would the same methods apply to getting rid of and of shrinking both of these types of stones? Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance, Dorothy Take Care and Talk to you soon! Dorothy
Guest guest
Hi Dorothy, It is going to be hard if she isn't a very willing participant - by eating stuff that makes her sicker Is there anyone in the family or friends who can maybe help prepare meals for her that are within the guidelines, but also aren't the same " boring " stuff she's sick of, and freeze them, so she has a wider variety and can still easily re-heat her foods? Sounds like she might not be so quick to eat the fried stuff that she makes if she wasn't getting bored with constantly having the same foods over and over. I'll send you a couple whole pages about Gall Stones and Kidney Stones that I have in some of my books here written by MD's and ND's. They give a whole gamut of dietary recommendations and compare conventional treatment options with non conventional treatment options and cover various approaches such as supplementation, homeopathy, herbs, etc ... Gimme just a bit to scan and send. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Dorothy [db] Monday, January 19, 2004 5:17 PM OT:Kidney and Gall Bladder Stones Hey Chris and Everyone, I know recently the topic of stones was discussed as a result of Chris' husband having I think it was kidney stones. Guest guest
Positive healing energies are on the way. Carol - Dorothy Thursday, January 22, 2004 10:49 PM Re: OT:Kidney and Gall Bladder Stones Hi Chris, I am just home from the hospital for a few minutes and signed in to send a message to my cousins overseas. The situation has gone from bad to worse. They said that she has an overwhelming infection that they can not reverse. They called the family to the hospital this morning. They have now determined that she has pneumonia and have said the next four days are critical. She has a blockage in her bowel that they can not determine what it is. They have said that she is not strong enough to operate. I came home to get some calming oils to massage her feet with. Anyone who can, I would appreciate prayers and healing energy being sent. I figure if enough people with good connections with the big guy upstairs pray for her that might make a difference. Hoping that she gets through this, I very much look forward to you sending the info about the stones. Any other suggestions about the situation will be considered but right now I have to run back up to the hospital. Thanks for your help and all of your efforts. Guest guest
Hi Deonia, I'm not sure about the one on the I-net, but I have heard of those cleanses that include olive oil, lemon (or grapefruit) juice, and enemas. I've also heard about really good results from them. Generally oils and fats (and red meat too) can cause the gall attacks, but there is something about olive oil that is beneficial. My herbology teacher touched on gall stones just a bit in my class and I remember that she mentioned olive oil too. She also mentioned a Chinese Patent Medicine LIDAN being used and very effective when taken over time. There are also some herbs known as hepatics that work well for gall stones and other liver issues (such as barberry), but they really can't be used it the gall stones are too big though, because if the gall stone gets caught in the duct it could block the bile and cause pain. This is an area that one would really have to do some serious research into, and consult a qualified naturopath (like with all conditions). Probably the best way to deal with gall stones is to take steps to avoid getting them in the first place, but isn't that the case with most stuff (an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as they say) ;-p *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Deonia2 [Deonia2] Thursday, January 22, 2004 7:57 PM Re: OT:Kidney and Gall Bladder Stones Chris, first, sorry for the other post being sent empty, my comp is playing spook games with me again and sends the reply before i even get a chance to reply! lol Are you at all familiar with the gall stone clense that is touted on the net using epsom salts, olive oil and grapefruit juice? or any of the others for that matter. Guest guest
Hi Deonia, You will find a good description of the cleanse you are referring to in Hulda Clark's books, among other places. She gives explicit directions for precisely what quantities to take and when. The difference between using grapefruit juice and lemon juice is that the grapefruit juice (fresh squeezed only) emulsifies the olive oil making it much easier to ingest. (I've tried it, and yes, it really works.) Taking the Epsom salts at several intervals both before and after taking the oil/juice mix, is specifically to open the bile ducts so that the stones do not get stuck. I have used this therapy as a preventative measure only, not as a remedy for an already manifested problem. We all have kidney and gall stones... in my experience, this effectively cleans them out. Good luck! Peace and blessings, Holly Perry

Guest guest
Hello everyone, I am signing in quickly to thank everyone for the energy and prayers that were sent on behalf of my mother. She passed away at 11:30 yesterday morning. In the last year and a half, I lived with my mother and our relationship ended up being very strained. The nurses asked that we as a family make up a schedule so that someone would always be there with her as she kept pulling at the tubes and they could not be there to sit by her side and hold her hand down so that the only remaining IV site would remain viable. Somehow it was me who ended up sitting with her through the night and I left the hospital at around 6ish. I was coming home to sleep for a few hours and was going to go right back up there. A big part of me thought that since she had made it through the most critical night that she was going to be able to fight to make it. Unfortunately that part was wrong. I also wanted to say thank you to Chris for sending that information to me. I very much appreciate it. thanks again, Dorothy
