Guest guest
Hey Butcher, I've got a few more questions for ya now Does the Sweet Orange Flowers stuff smell similar to the Bitter Orange Flower stuff then? Anywhere the Sweet Orange Blossom stuff is available? I now remember you mentioning something to Ylva about Sweet Orange Blossom some time back ... But heck if the Sweet Orange Blossom is cheaper, and smells very similar, it should be more widely available, right? Also, why is the Neroli hydrosol so hard to get the real stuff is the Neroli oil itself is produced (wouldn't the hydrosol come with, like it does with Rose)? I guess I'm figuring that wouldn't the producer of the quality Neroli Oil have the hydrosol too? Thanks for the info! Oh, and Mercury retrograde ends today. But like with a rollercoaster ride .. the beginning and endings of retrogrades sometimes can be the roughest part of the ride! But now Jupiter is in retrograde ;-p Good luck with the glue removal! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com Butch Owen [butchbsi] Thursday, January 08, 2004 12:02 AM Neroli Hydrosol? Hey Yankee Gal, > Anyone know where to get a good Neroli hydrosol, or Neroli wax, in > quantity (I don't want just like 2 oz of each - I want to USE the stuff) NOPE .. and I think most other folks don't either .. there is not much produced and almost all of it comes from Tunisia. But I believe some people will be happy to BS you and tell you they have it. What they have most likely have is Orange Flower Hydrosol .. made from Sweet Orange Blossoms (Citrus sinensis). But .. Neroli is made from Bitter Orange Blossoms (Citrus aurantium). And the prices of the two oils are: Neroli ............. Around $2,000.00 a pound Sweet Orange ....... Around $ 13.00 a pound You will have a fair amount of the essential oil in the Hydrosol. You can see the price difference above .. but some people don't see the difference when they are sold Sweet Orange Blossom Hydrosol and told it is Neroli Hydrosol. > I already know where to get the good Neroli oil (thanks Butch), it is > just so costly to use in many of the things I make. Thankee ma'am .. I can say that I believe that ANY proven pure/proven quality Neroli EO will be from Tunisia .. I doubt we'll find any better and we produce it here in Turkey too. > Hey Butch, why don't you have Neroli hydrosol? It'd be so nice to get a > gallon of it! Wish I had a barrel or two .. I'd buy a ton tomorrow if I could cause it would sell. And I could become wealthy selling what is out and about now if I chose to do so .. but since I have been straight for a long time (young I am not) I think its a little too late for me to change now. ;-p I visited Tunisia a couple of years ago ... I reckon I need to go again but my next trip is to Madagascar. In any case, I will get REAL Neroli Hydrosol when I can .. but if I ever decide to sell the Orange Blossom Hydrosol I will make sure it is properly identified. Going back into retrograde now as I've been using Acetone all day trying to get this danged Super Glue off'n my hands. ;-p > *Smile* > Chris Y'all keep smiling. Guest guest
Hi Christine, My hubby gave me 8 oz for my birthday which he got from a friend who has a little shop in No. Georgia. However, she doesn't have a web address. But I made a Monoi de Taira with neroli hydrosol lotion (for me) and it is absolutely awesome. I believe Marge has it. Warmly, Bobbye > > http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
OK, after reading Butch's post on Orange Blossom vs real Neroli, I suspect mine is absolutely Orange Blossom even though it said Neroli. Still smells wonderful.
