Guest guest
I got a sample of a lotion made with Yuzu oil, so it sparked my curiosity. The lotion is called " Japanese Citrus - Yuzu " . I'm wondering what anyone can tell me about Yuzu oil (Citrus junos siebold). Is it a citrus oil that is distilled, rather than cold pressed, or is it just not a very phototoxic citrus oil (hence its use in lotion)? Is it even a tested oil? It does smell very nice. Is it mostly used just for scent? ... I just figured some folks here might have experience with it, therefore it'd be a good place to start finding some details about it Thanks! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com

For some reason, I belive the rinds are shipped from Japan to Korea for processing! I have never seen any testing info. Several firms are now coming out with complete Yuzu lines of body care products (it was featured on Happi magazine a few months ago). I have found a source for the FO that is identical to the abs. or rectified oil, and I put some in a shower gel. Yummy! I do have both the abs and rectified stuff (got it from sunrose.com.) Fabulous stuff. I got the FO from sweetcakes.com I have had the juice of the yuzu in a salad dressing and also in a seafood marinade at a very upscale restaurant. The fruit is starting to appear in gourmet markets. >I just figured some folks here might have experience with it, therefore >it'd be a good place to start finding some details about it >Thanks! Actually, the best info is probably found at my alma mater, the University of California, Riverside, since they have the biggest citrus research lab in the US. I have a link to UC database research, I'll see if I can find any info there.
