Guest guest
I'm asked about making and diluting liquid soap quite often, so here are a few tips I've come up with that might help anyone either making it from scratch, or making it using a pre made liquid soap paste base. If you want a clear liquid soap then be sure to use only distilled or soft water for making and diluting your liquid soap. When making liquid soap, add a little bit of paste from an older batch to the new batch right at the start and it'll trace much faster. If you let your stirred oils and lye water blend sit overnight in a covered pot, it'll trace much faster for you when you go back to it the next day. It is much easier to dissolve your soap paste if you use hot to boiling water. Sulfonated Castor Oil (Turkey Red Oil) can be used to superfat your liquid soap. Other oils will make the liquid soap cloudy, so if you want a clear liquid soap only use the Turkey Red Oil. Vegetable Glycerin can be added to your liquid soap to make it more moisturizing. To make your liquid soap with herbs - either use herb infused distilled water to dilute your soap or use a genuine hydrosol. Foamer (a.k.a foaming) bottles make your liquid soap go a long way! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
