Guest guest
This weather here is nuts! For the past few days it's been in the upper 70's and like 97% humidity. There are even crickets chirping outside tonight! In fact its STILL 70 degrees right now, and its almost 10:30 PM! I've not lived here very long (only since mid Oct.) and granted I've heard that it's hot in Houston, but this is somethin' else! I wanted to put my A/C on for a while today (and I did resist the temptation, it just seemed unholy to me to put a/c on in January in the northern hemisphere *lol*) What's it going to be like in July here?????? Sheesh! *Smile* Chris <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
My air conditioner runs on and off year round. I LOVE IT! We had a beautiful day here in Central Florida today. In the mid 70s and no humidity detected (by me!). As far as I'm concerned, it was the PERFECT Winter day. My doors were opened and I did virtually nothing. Life is GOOD! 2004...more, more, more! ~~~Shelley~~~

Guest guest
Hello Chris, I don't write in often, but when I read your note about the Houston weather I giggled because I understand. I grew up in Texas. Most of that time I lived in Corpus Christi, right on Padre Island. It will surely take you some time to adjust to the weather. The dog days of Summer in S. Texas are incredibly hot and humid. A/C will be your *best* friend (and that's an understatement)!!! I can recall it barely dropping below 90 throughout the evenings. Whew! So much to enjoy in Texas. I'm in Virginia now and I do get homesick, esp for Tex-Mex cooking. Slowly but surely, your body will adjust. When I first moved to VA, I shivered when the temp was below 50 degrees! After about four years, I could comfortably tolerate the 40's. I still don't like it, but I can live with it. Supposedly, the blood thins when you live in a hot climate for a length of time. I don't know if that's true, but I know it was a huge adjustment for me. I'll think of you this coming Summer. ;-) Take care. -Brie BusyB. Boy has this neighborhood changed even since I first moved here 15 years ago.
