Guest guest
Like everyone else, we all have one & here is mine from my own warped view of the world: #1. I had the privlidge of attending a couple of Boeing classes in Seattle so I took advantage of my weekends there. My favorite things were visiting Pikes Market (apt 2-3 blocks from there) & catching the ferry over to the Olympic Pens & exploring Hurricane ridge, & I did make it over to the Hoh Rainforest - I fell in love with the area. Beautiful country. #2. As far as our forests: we bought our property with a timber contract on it, my DH & I literally cried when they cut our trees down but we got a fantastic deal on the land & we are under timber exempt on our taxes because we replanted (yes, my DH & I planted thousands of little pines all by ourselves & it reseeded naturally also) & in another 20 years or so it will be ready to timber again if so desired by the future owners since we plan on retiring & moving to Or. in 5 years. Logging/timbering has come a long way from the rape & plunder of yore but I have to admit I think: what gives us the right to chop down a tree that's been here for hundreds or even thousands of years? We don't need the old growth, too many of us that will replant & timber what has already been timbered & replanted. You can go overboard both ways - rape & plundering the land & protecting it. #3. I hate to generalize but here goes: there are a lot of us that talk environment, etc. But lets face it, how many of those that preach it would truly give up luxuries or their everyday creature comforts to support it? Most of us do the " recycling " etc. Would we give up our central air/heat? Would we carpool instead of driving our vehicles in on the chance that we may have get to leave work early? How many that talk the talk but not walk the walk but drive big the big SUV's? Guess we could go on & on with the subject & argue, discuss, & point fingers but we have to take care of our " house " first. I guess one of my pet peeves is the energy thing but how affordable is it for the average joe to go solar? Ok, I guess I've yada, yada'd long enough. Don't flog the rambler - I'll claim old timers!! -- God Bless You & Yours, Georgia (HAHAGRANNY) " Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Unlike the bacteriacidal or fungicidal oils, or those that help with respiratory problems, I have never seen any proof that rosewood is good for 'anything'. Perhaps some like the scent of it for psychological reasons, but so what? A quick scan of Pubmed shows potential for allergic dermatitis, in fact: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=Search & DB=PubMed Myself, I find it very easy to avoid rosewood oil or products until the (saw)dust settles about the issues. It's much easier to find renewable oils with no contention about them to use in the meantime.http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady

There are some citations about folks feeling better sniffing the oil. Find a substitute, I say.http://member.newsguy.com/~herblady
