One of the reasons my posts are often long (just one reason) is that I try to cover all the possible/potential exceptions to what I write .. basically, I try to preempt disagreement when there really is no disagreement. ;-p It is understood that US farmers and landowners will not/would not allow the US Gummit to tell them which tree they can cut .. without a court order. I was referring to developments and new housing areas and such. Few states allow developers to cut and slash now .. they must get prior approval for removal of trees .. and then they remove only those that must be removed to build. I don't have a lot of personal experience with these laws .. but I have heard many people .. including construction types .. say that this is the way it is. And as sure as a bear craps in the woods .. somebody on here can come up with an exception. ;-p > " The Basil Book " > http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil > Http://www.aromaticsage.com
