Guest guest
What can I say, I'm not doing a darn thing... Okay, not strictly true... If someone thinks they might be feeling a bit ill, I put on the diffuser and gas 'em out... Otherwise, not a THING... btw... what ever I had yesterday seems to be gone, for which I am a happy bunny, do not have time to be ill! ;-) K Cheers! Guest guest
Well, I already had something - not sure if it was a touch of the flu or not. But I drank lots of teas, tinctures, water, homemade chicken soup (made with herbs to include astragalus, ginger, garlic and I don't remember what else I threw in there, but if I thought it would help in it went), eat lots of garlic, neti pot the nose, sweating baths, and aromatherapy sprays. I work with the public so I am now doing teas and tonics to continue to build my immune system, carry my buggies die eo spray and spray it at anyone who even possibly looks or sounds sick. And big time wash my hands a lot. This will help immensely. And I'm remembering to take the multi vitamins that I made and keep forgetting to take. Guest guest
Since its been big news all over the country that this is predicted to be one of the worst flu seasons in memory, and the flu shot, even if you do believe it is a valuable thing (which I personally don't, but that is besides the point) is both in short supply, and not even made from the strain that is particularly virulent this year, I am wondering what everyone here is doing to keep the flu away ... We are taking extra vitamin C here, eating lots of good foods with extra onion and garlic in the mix, and the kids are occasionally getting a little children's echinacea to give their immune systems that extra boost. I also have a holiday aroma blend I've made that contains, among other things, cinnamon and a blend of conifer, and I'm figuring that diffusing that should help kill some germies, as well as make the house smell lovely and ready for the holidays I am a little worried because in a week and a half my older son (who is 4) will be traveling to Colorado for 3 weeks to visit his dad - and he will be back in pre-school while there and taking a plane ride home, and getting his dad to remember to give him the vitamins and herbs will be a bit of a chore .. so we shall just hope he comes back in good health *Smile* Chris (list mom) <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Chris, I haven't had to use this, but a lot of people on other lists are raving about Oscillococcinum by Boiron. It is a homeopathic remedy that you take at the first sign of the flu, and it is supposed to knock it right out. I went to the HFS and got some to have on hand, just in case! Guest guest
Hey there Chris :-) Thought Id pop in for this one! We have been drinking a delicious decoction of Elderberry , Astragalus and Codonopsis. Elderberry is a long known antiviral, and Codonopsis and Astragalus are both Chinese Tonic Herbs that grow well here in the US- so are available organically. Also- just keep washing your hands- that is probably the biggest help right there. Blessings to all- Michelle in cold, icy, snowy vermont!! Guest guest
Uncle stinky has the flu- He came out whinning that he was waking up every hour sweating, the first thing I thought was how I will have to burn that linen when he finally leaves. He won't drink tea, take vitamins or eat soup - seems grandma used to give him cod liver oil- I told him where the pharmacy was but he just grunted? Doesn't want any of my stinky crap diffused in his room so I handed him tylenol and told him to stay away from us. He's taken to bed with pepsi and twizzlers- I'll let you know if that works.I know I am mean, I'll have DH check on him when he gets home, I am not going near him. The rest of us are taking our vitamins and all precautions. Gea
