Holy smokes... sounds like me in the beginning... bees wax candles take a

LARGE wick... go up a couple more sizes and try it that way. Bees Wax NEEDS a

large wick...

Learned the hard way and wasted a lot of wax and wicks and eo's.

Cheers!

Thought one or all of you amazing chandlers might be able to help me

with this one. :P

I made some beeswax/bayberry votives, using the pre-waxed votive tabs.

The flame is super-small, burns out quickly unless you dump the melt

pool often - and I hate to do that. Is there another kind of

pretabbed wick for beeswax? Or would it be too hard to do it myself?

Any thoughts on wick sizes?

They are gorgeous, and smell amazing - I just want to be able to

actually _burn_ them.

The beeswax tea lights are even worse...

Thanks for any advice!

I love beeswax :) Poured over 200 lbs of beeswax candles this season. Her is

what I have found with them over the years. HUGE wicks!!!!!!!!! Square braided

work well. Hemp core work nicely for tapers. Make sure you have your wicks

primed with a good, hard paraffin. I also make paraffin and soy candles. I

don't make votives or tea sizes. Just too tiny for me LOL

Hi Jen,

hehe, sounds like my beeswax tea lights. You now what my Dh said when

he saw them burning - you can't get everything right the first time ;-

P

I used the tabbed wicks I got when I bought the aluminium tea

light ..jars??? I have come to realise that I do need to use larger

wicks, and need to get some tabs to anchor them with too. That

Bayberry wax, is that what give the lovely scent??

Fragrant Blessings,

Ylva
