Well, maybe but they are also rather backwards in their attitudes towards children with learning disabilities... at least near Frankfurt... My SIL son has severe dyslexia and probably one or two other problems... but instead of every trying to give him the help he needed to learn to read and write, they put his problem on a back burner and decided to teach him " On his level " . Which means today he's going to a tech college to learn carpentry (which fortunately he LIKES) as it means a minimal of reading and writing in his professional life. They never ordered extra help for him, just said " It's okay " and poor Serena has spent YEARS in frustration over the system there... course this is only one anecdote... her daughter on the other hand has no problems and is doing brilliantly and has been in an exchange program to Puerto Rico and her experience is 180 degrees in the other direction... Just rambling while waiting for something to show up in me box from the instructor for me Management class >sigh< K Cheers! Guest guest
Marilyn, Thanks for the heads up. That is some crazy stuff! How would someone in the US even begin to go about protesting a gov't body in Europe? And I thought, according to so many folks I hear talk, that Europe is supposed to be quite superior to the US in its " natural mindset " and friendly environmental policies? Isn't Germany the land of the Green Party, wooden toys and decylpolyglucose - meaning they always seem a step ahead in the natural lifestyle issues. What's up with that? I hope that idea doesn't spread across the pond or we'll all have to buy our EO's as " curios " - like we had to do with Comfrey for a while. Well, I gotta get back to making organic apple sauce - my kids go through buckets of that stuff! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com foxhillers [foxhillers] Thursday, December 11, 2003 10:10 AM aromatherapy; Re: [AromaResearch] Biocides Directive In a message dated 12/11/03 9:49:14 AM Eastern Standard Time, tony writes: > > Dear all, > > A body blow has been dealt to the Aromatherapy profession and to Essential > Oil Users in general by the EU just recently.
