Guest guest
Hey Debbie, I'll tell you how I DO IT .. other folks might do it differently. In time, you're gonna have somebody write and ask for a sample of ALL your products .. it happens to me from time to time .. and I have over 100 oils now so that is not feasible. You gotta pay for the bottles, the caps, the oil and in my case, for the labor to fill them .. and I am NOT going to pay the postage. > Hello, business minds! > I am hoping for some suggestions . . . > I have been a little anxious about getting into wholesaling full > scale, but I have had a number of requests lately. I wanted to send > out a nice assortment of samples, and I was hoping some of you > business savvy folks could tell me what you usually do. Do you send > out lots of full sized samples, trial size, a combo, etc.? Any ideas > would be greatly appreciated! First .. keep good records. Keep a list of what each customer buys and gets as a free sample. You gotta update that each time you confirm an order .. if not then you'll get too far behind. Wanna make sure they get to sample everything but no need to send the same thing twice. When a customer makes an order I include five free samples .. they are paying the exact cost of shipping anyway. Sometimes, for a first time customer with a big order .. I might go with 7-8-9 or ten samples. BUT .. when somebody writes and wants samples without an order .. as is the case often and I deal with folks in 50 states and 59 other countries now .. I write back and tell them that WITHOUT AN ORDER they can have 5 free samples .. but they pay the exact postage cost. If they are serious folks .. not professional sample collectors .. they agree. And I also tell them they can have more samples if they want .. the first five are free and number 6 and onward is 50 cents each. Around 25% of the folks who write me never write back .. but 75% or so do and they get their samples. That's my position .. free samples are necessary .. but postage on them is not. You can spend a couple of hundred bucks a week in postage if you don't ask them to pay that amount. > Thanks, > Debbie > deb > Stocking stuffers to tantalize your senses > http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/specials.php LeChaim .. and y'all keep smiling. ;-P Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
