Guest guest
Hi Janet, Sorry it took me so long to get this to you. For a very decadent night " cream " : 50% Virgin (unrefined) Shea butter 25% Virgin coconut oil 10% fractionated coconut oil 10% golden jojoba 5% Borage, black current or rosehip seed. I usually melt my butter gently in a pyrex measuring cup double boiler style till it is almost melted. I remove from heat and stir till the pieces have melted too. I add the soft oils and stir. Put this in the freezer for like 15 minutes. Take out and use a hand blender to stir it up a bit, put back in freezer for like 5 minutes and just keep an eye on it. When the glass is cold and the butter/oil mix is just starting to solidify on the edge next to the glass, keep it out and keep blending. I do not use a high speed as I am not trying for a whipped butter really. You can let it rest and make a candle or 2 then go back and blend it again. Keep doing that until you have a nice thick creamy blend. Transfer to a clean jar. When I use this type of cream, I spritz rose hydrosol on my face then put a pea sized amount of butter blend on my middle two fingers and dab them together till it liquifies. I then gently dab that on my face and massage in, using tiny gentle circles. I have really dry skin and this type of blend works for me as a day cream too. If you would like to make a cream with a water phase and I'll get one of my recipe out for you.
