Hi Butch!

Well they are _ALL_ valuable dogs. :) But I agree, I stand in awe of

those dogs. I've had the priviledge to work with a few - the bomb and

drug dogs are sweet as can be, but never EVER forget for a second they

are WORKING animals with a job. Now patrol dogs are a little scary -

you DO NOT treat them like average Fido, one wrong move and you are

pinned to the ground under a 100 lb german shephard!! Same with

police dogs and such. Know your german, and move slowly and

carefully. Ask me how I know ;)

Wonderful, intelligent, brave animals.

Hey Jen,

Glad you put that out .. its a little known fact and most folks who own

a dawg have never even considered having their teeth cleaned. Granted

there are many things a dawg can do/eat to help his own teeth a bit but

routine treatment is a must.

The last 20 years of my military career was spent in the MPs .. and we

always had dawgs and dawg handlers .. drug sniffers, bomb sniffers,

patrol dawgs and the like. The largest kennel I ever had contained 27

dawgs .. in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. We had two full-time vets on

assignment to take care of them .. and routine teeth cleaning was a part

of that care. They were valuable dawgs. :-) Butch

Hi Butch,

Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, my brother spent 3 or 4 years there in the 70's.

Wanted to go every year, but the kids were young, I could never find the extra

time or money back then. He always said it would cost hardly anything, and I

could see Hawaii like it really was.

Well Fiona is one heck of a valuble doggie too, so every week I brush

her teeth with doggie tooth paste and I think she likes it. At least

it does improve her breath LOL and she has the witest doggieteeth

around :-D

Fragrant Blessings,

Ylva
