Oh Effie,

I know how you feel. I too have had to put a beloved pet to sleep.

She was 18 and developed a tumor. I made the decison to have the

tumor removed and she never recovered. I have her ashes in a little

box along with a framed copy of " The Rainbow Bridge. "

My prayers are with you and your friend.

Thank you so much, Buffy. Pets become an important part of a family. I am

now debating if I will get another cocker or a 'sheltie' (very soon). I

have had a sheltie in the past and they are so very loveable, but then so is

the cocker. I can't stand being without a dog!! My home seems so empty.

I, too, will have the framed poem with a place to put Britches' picture and

will set it next to her ashes.

Thank you for your support.

Blessings and love,

Effie

Dear Effie,

When we lost our dogs in April, they did belongs to my son, he bought a house

the girls went with him. I was heartbroken. Know this might sound strange, I

went for a Pit.

She is now 8 months old. Certified Therapy dog, I'm now a certified handler.

We will begin working in January. She will work for treats and the love people

give.

I will be working for people to just help them have a little happiness in there

lives.

We will go to hospitals, Nursing Homes, Hospice. I did want her to learn to

help children with problems learning. But she is too young for that. Will be

taking a safety class, the go to schools with a Trooper, so we can teach

children how to be with a strange dog.

Don't know how she will be, she loves everyone, and all the little animals.

Thankfully she sure helped the hurt lesson. I still miss the girls, but this

one can take anyones heart. You will feel so much better when you have a new

friend to love.

Hugs Nancy

I feel for you... In february, I had to put my first guide dog Buddy to

sleep... I found a replacement dog in July but because one of my German

Shepherds didn't like him and refused to be rehomed, (he wouldn't eat or

drink for anyone but me), I had to put him, (the german shepherd) to sleep

as well...

Lately, I've been struggling, watching my guide dog Sniper, die before my

eyes... Thankfully, we think we've fixed the problem but not eating for

eight days and not drinking for four is worrisome.

You'll be in my prayers...

> I have had to do something that hangs extremely heavy on my whole being.

I had to have my beautiful little cocker put to sleep. I am having her

cremated and her ashes will be with mine someday. I have cried until I

think I don't have anymore tears, but they just keep on coming. Britches

was 15-years-old in July and was doing so good for that age. In the few

months since, she lost her hearing, eye sight and sense of smell and had

lost control over her potty training. I had read the article 'rainbow

bridge' in one of the emails--I think on this list. If someone has it, I

would be deeply thankful if you would forward it to me.
