Guest guest
We were out of town, and I didn't have computer access, to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving on Thursday. Hope everyone had a great day. We went to my mother's, and it poured all day in typical New Orleans monsoon fashion. Wind was blowing hard all day too. The food sucked (well, the turkey and pies were good), and I was sick, but it was still a good day. I don't get to see mom often, so despite everything, it was good. I've pretty much been absent from the list most of this month for which I apologize. I've been busy for the most part. I've been getting my nutrition and health back on track in preparation to stop smoking, plus have been updating web pages, researching for articles, and all the other assorted, behind the scenes stuff of an online business. I've also been trying to take more time for me in the evenings and on weekends instead of spending all day and evening working. And I'm actually making progress ... or at least I was until I got the sick. If things continue as they have been for the past couple of weeks, I'm hoping to be caught up by the end of the month, if not sooner. Also came down with the flu the Friday before Thanksgiving. Bleah! Went to war with it, and had it pretty much beat down by Sunday morning. Wasn't feeling great, but wasn't feeling totally icky (and cranky) either. The back and forth weather, cold fronts coming through, and the trip to mom's has my sinuses in an uproar now. I swear I'd be rich if I had bought stock in Kleenex with the amount I've gone through over the past week. Tried my hand at making lozenges for the first time too this week. I really need to get a candy thermometer before trying this again. I almost got it cooked right, but not quite. The lozenges are good, but need to be kept in the fridge so they aren't sticky. Ah well, I learned something, and know how to do it next time. I have all sorts of ideas for lozenges running through my head now (much to hubby's dismay *laugh*). Hope everyone has a great weekend!
