Guest guest
LOL oooh Kathleen, I had one of those too. He just turned 29 on Wed. The terrible teens were simply awful. It does get better, just takes a little longer than most kids. About when they leave the house. LOL [or when they sneak up behind you and hug you] Here's a little something we did when he was little. We had a share box. It was a metal can, Japanese decorations. [i still have it]. We used little scraps of paper and wrote something on each one. He would get to do one throughout the day if he behaved. [i.e., didn't go around ripping paper money in half, giving said money to kids on playground], or if we just felt like doing it, to do something different. This was mostly the reason. Now we were a 2 person household, so it always involved one of us. <g> One would say, 'kiss the person on your left' or 'play a game of cards with the person on your right'. 'Tell the person across from you 2 reasons why you love them', 'scratch the back of the person on your left', [he LOVED having his back scratched]. It was mostly stuff that had to do with giving things we had, there was one in there that was 'go buy an ice cream'. When he was very little, I wrote all the stuff, as he got older, he said what he wanted. You might want to try it, it might help him to stay in front of the t.v.? Or, go get a big box, put leaves in it and put it in the room where he gets to play in it. He remembers the share box to this day. Cool huh? I wish HE would get married so I could have grandkids!
