Thanks for the information on dispersing and tonifying. Does the Shudo Denmai book on meridian diagnosis relate to the use of the ryodaraku? I am studying TCM in Spain, and our teacher recommended using the IS 160 (which is an electro-acupuncture machine, point locator, and ryuodaraku). I have currently bought it, and have queries about using it. If anyone has a spare moment could they please explain how they have found using it, and if they think that using the ryodaraku with TCM is compatible. I understood that the Ryuodaraku´s meridian measurements shows if there is an excess or insufficiency in the organ, not just the meridian, but Mike´s response seems to say this isn´t the case. Guest guest
I do not know much about ryodaraku, which measures ting-well pts for electrical impulses. A channel is considered separate from an organ although there is much overlap in signs and symptomology. Shudo does not discuss this apparatus but, in stead, focuses upon physician development and not reliance upon a machine to make the diagnosis. I enjoyed his text as it opened up a new world that was almost refreshingly different from the medicalized TCM. That is what really made things more fun for me.Mike W.
