Bilateral cryptorchidism in Border Collie, 6 months old

Hi All,

 

The owner of 6-mo old pedigree Border Collie with bilateral

cryptorchidism would like to have the dog's testes salvaged, if possible.

Neither testis is palpable in the inguinal area / muscles.

 

What are your comments on the following?:

 

1. As a genetic link to cryptorchidism is suspected, is it advisable to try

to salvage the testes and use such a dog for breeding later?

 

2. Owner would prefer non-surgical treatment of the dog, if possible.

With that in mind, are there any effective NON-surgical methods to

induce cryptorchid testes to descend?
