Of course I am not disputing the success others have had with using yunnan

baiyao to stop bleeding. But just so that people will hear the other side,

I'll report my experience that yunnan baiyao did not help at all to stop,

control

or lessen the heavy menstrual bleeding that I experienced due to fibroids.

I tried it many times, because everyone kept saying it would work for me.

But it didn't work. I eventually had to have surgery to remove the fibroids,

and after that, my cycle became normal again in terms of quantity of flow.

Ross,

When you say 'shock affecting the circulatory system' does this refer to

bleeding, or is this more a description of some trauma that affects the heart,

as

in emotional trauma? Can you say more?

No, it doesn't work for everything. Yunnan Baiyao is a trauma

medicine, for emergencies from accidents, etc. Treating fibroid

tumors will, of course, depend on the specific condition, the

pattern, the cause. After a certain point, a severe physical

pathology such as an advanced fibroid will not respond to a trauma

medicine. Also, issues of dosage, freshness, etc. have to be

considered.

" Shock affecting the circulatory system " : I am referring to some trauma that

affects the

heart, which to some degree all traumas, especially that of a sudden severe

nature, do

affect the heart. Often signficant trauma (emotional or physical) significantly

depletes

heart yin and affects the circulatory system by causing a rapid heart rate (the

more severe

the trauma, the higher the rate) and typically presents with a rough vibration

on the pulse.

In the beginning, the rough vibration may only affect the heart, so you may only

access

that on the left distal position. In signficant cases, or where the trauma was

never treated,

it may spread to the whole left side, or the entire pulse. The rough vibration

reflects the

impact on the circulation mediated via the heart.

The traumas may have happened many years prior, as well. Even, and most

importantly,

birth trauma, such as insults in utero, cord around the neck, stuck in the birth

canal, etc.

And of course, yunnan bai yao can be used for any issue where there is blood

stasis and

bleeding. This may have, in fact, been the result of some trauma (emotional or

physical).
