Guest guest
Hi! Does anyone have any experience in the use of Yunnan Baiyao (to resolve shock, excess menstrual bleeding and so on), and in that case, how much do you prescribe (powder) and when do you advice your patients to use the small pill that is included in the powder container? Guest guest
Carl, I have used Yunnan. In fact I had 2 teeth pulled this morning at 8am. The dentist said I should expect bleeding for 2-3 hours. He gave me a pack of cotton gauze. I took 2 caps of Yunnan and the bleeding stopped in 10 min. The red pill should be used for very heavy bleeding, that needs to be stopped fast. Maria K. Guest guest
I've used Yunnan Baiyao in all kinds of bleeding and trauma, sometimes with remarkable results. It is one of the few Chinese prepared (or 'patent') medicines I use in my practice. On Mar 20, 2006, at 8:25 PM, Ron & Maria Kuriloff wrote: > Carl, > I have used Yunnan. Guest guest
Greetings all, I have also used the little red pills for bleeding - esp nose bleeds that aren't stopping - and they work great! I usu. cut these off of the foil pack and save them for these situations, as I use yunnan biao caps/powder for other trauma/swelling and post surgery as it helps reduce adhesions. Using the powder directly on a cut also reduces the bleeding quite nicely. susan froehlich, lac columbia riveer acupuncture hood river, or usa
Guest guest
The red pill contains aromatic open orifice herbs and is used for shock. I have also used Yunnan Baiyao with good results. Never had to use the red pill, but often sent the unused red pills to a local Mountain rescue team who did use it on occasion. Guest guest
Often when we use Yunnan Bai Yao for shock affecting the circulatory system (in the Shen- Hammer tradition) we prescribe it the following way: first night: red pill first day: 1 pill 2x/day second day: 1 pill 3x/day third day: 1 pill 4x/day fourth day until end (total 64 pills) 2 pills 4x/day That is one course. Often more than one course is necessary and usually you wait a couple weeks between courses. Also, usually there is some other formula prescribed with the yunnan bai yao: typically a sheng mai san variation. Ross
