Hi Susie!

Well, she doesn't have diabetes *yet*, but I wouldn't bet on her never

having it. If it is POS, how do you know for sorta-sure and what kind of

herb/acupuncture can you use?

Pete

Hi Pete

I think it highly likely she will manifest Diabetes type 2 very quickly if

she doesn't change her lifestyle/diet. You should be recommending a high

Glycaemic index diet and reduction in wheat and dairy.

PCOS can be diagnosed by ultrasound, but doesn't always show up. The most

sure way is laparoscopy (camera in abdomen). What are her periods like?

Does she have a long or irregular cycle? Does she have fertility problems?

Does she have any mid cycle pain?

I think you would need to provide more information to get a full diagnosis

for this lady, but usually cysts like these would be damp and/or blood

stagnation.

Hi Susie!

I posted her whole case (Thread: Woman, 36: Migraine, depression, 5' 4 " ,

286lb.) on the list in maybe January. I think I covered most all this,

here are some snips from it. If you don't have the whole case on your

computer anymore and wish to see it, let me know.

The two sections on female stuff:

(female only section)

Have you ever had a vaginal discharge? Yes.

Have you ever had painful menstruation? Yes.

Have you ever had irregular menstruation? Yes.

How old were you when you had your first menstrual period? 12

What is the interval between your menstrual periods? 28 ± 1

How long do your menstrual periods last? 3-5 When was your last period?

Week ago.

What is the quantity of your menstrual discharge? Normal, sometimes scanty.

(end of female only section)

Female section:

Sometimes early, sometimes late period. Yes. (Liver Qi stagnation, Liver

Blood Stasis, Spleen deficiency, Kidney deficiency)

Scanty period. Yes.

Dark red or bright red menstrual blood. Yes. (Blood Heat)

Fresh‑red color menstrual blood. Yes or no, depends. (Empty Heat in the

Blood)

Congealed menses with clots. Yes, maybe one 3/8 " clot per month. (Blood

Stasis in the Uterus, Blood Heat, Cold in the Uterus, Qi deficiency)

Pain during periods. Yes. (Liver Qi Stagnation, Liver Blood Stasis,

Stagnation of Cold in the Uterus, Damp Heat in the Uterus, Stagnant

Liver Qi turning to Liver Fire, Deficient Qi and Blood, Spleen Yang and

Liver Blood deficiency, Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency)

Yellow vaginal discharge. Yes, sometimes.

(end of female section)

She has never been pregnant and is not in a relationship.

I am fascinated about your recommendation of " a high Glycaemic index

diet " . Please tell me more about this.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete

Sorry, I meant to say you should recommend a low Glycaemic Index diet.
