Guest guest
For those who are interested, House Bill 4167, supported by the majority of House of Representatives, Repulicrats and Democricans, if passed will superceed state regulations on food labeling for health hazards or 'other' specific state-required labeling. Opposed by most all the states, it looks like the House will push this through, with food industry backing. Although the Senate has no similar bill on the docket, it would be helpful if you write your senators to state your position. Labels like not eating mercury containing seafood while pregnant, or the inclusion of other health warnings would disappear unless, and until, a state sues the Federal government. Recently benzene has been found in soft drinks.... http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/5590.html or http://www.sltrib.com/ci_3568719?source=rss or just google bezene in soft drinks...
