I have a patient whose toenail bed was damaged by trauma, and has been

told it will never regrow correctly. Anyone treat this before

successfully with any modality?

Didn't treat it but had it happen to me. When I was a teenager had my big

toe slammed in a door. The nail was lifted off the bed and over some time

slowly was detaching as it was growing out. I kept trimming it back as I

wanted to be able to put on shoes and participate in some activity. I can

only suggest that they leave it attached as much as possible, keep it

wrapped to protect it and keep the area clean. Mine grew back correctly.

I hope this helps.
