Hi All

I have a new patient - 63 yr. male with a history of bowel and prostate

cancer. The surgeon told him that he had to sacrifice the left nerves, he gave

my patient the impression that maybe he would be able to get an erection as

he healed. The surgery was done 6 months ago. The patient sometimes can get

a partial erection only when standing up. This gentleman is very focused on

this aspect of his life and is stressed ++ about it. Does anyone have

experience with treating? Do you think acupuncture will help? I don't want to

mislead him and I don't know if the right nerves could take over full function.

Thank you,

I'm betting an increase in blood pressure while standing is giving the gent a

bit of an edge. This is a good sign as it shows he has something to work

with.

Nerves will regenerate with stimulation. I would use light electro stim,

b-vits, fatty acids, choline and PS as a minimum to start with. Consider

homeopathics to release tisue trauma.

Check out the exiting location of the various nerve roots (innervate the

genitals) and find pts near these locations. I would look for areas that

are really tight in the sacral/lumbar areas. I find it interesting that he

can still get a partial one when standing. This might suggest nerve

compression. Have you palpated lower abdomen for congested areas? This

could also be helpful to overall functioning. Hope this helps.

Thank you Chris, Mike and Phil for your thoughts. This gentleman has

decided to try a few treatments. I started him on some homeopathic's as well

as

acu. I will let you know of the outcome.

Kind Regards
