Guest guest
Hi Jamie & All, Jamie noted that people usually have one side weaker/stronger than the other. She finds that aches and pains usually (but not always) are ipsilateral. She has had people complain about the R neck and shoulder and L hip and lower back, but not very often... As taught by my Masters, Marvin Cain and Emiel van den Bosch, I also see this diagonal relationship every day in horses. >80% of horses with rump (butt) pain or atrophy also show pressure- sensitivity (pain/spasm to gentle probing) of the opposite Neck (and sometimes L scapular muscles). For example, if I find clear sensitivity to probing of the L Neck (and sometimes L scapular muscles), I can predict with a high degree of probability that I will find marked sensitivity on the opposite ® rump (sacro-iliac to hip to tuber ischii) muscles when I examine the R side later. In my experience, L neck sensitivity RARELY associates with L rump, UNLESS BOTH sides of the neck are sensitive (in which case, both butts usually are sensitive also. In horses with pain on BOTH sodes of the spine, I first needle Renzhong-GV26 + Weijian-Tail Tip. Those two needles often release the butt pain within 15 seconds. If not, then I add bilateral Feishu-BL13 + weizhong-BL40 and probe the affected rump(s) again. If bilateral butt sensitivity remains, I add bilateral Jianliao-TH14 and/or bilateral Jianzhen-SI09, + " Animal Baihui " (midline, in lumbosacral space) + " Human Baihui " (GV20) + Marvin Cain's " Equine Performance Pt " (midway between ant/cranial upper edge of iliac crest and lumbosacral space, near Guanyuanshu BL26) +/- Shenshu-BL23 +/- Yanglingquan-GB34. However, those needles rarely release the neck pain. To release the neck, I needle Fengchi-GB20, Jianjing-GB21, Shuitu-ST10, Tianliao- TH15. If all else fails (and only then, i.e. as a last resort), I needle any remaining Ahshi Pts. For one-sided butt pain, I rarely use GV26 or Tail-Tip, but start with the contralateral neck/shoulder Pts and add the other points ipsilaterally (as above), Best regards, HOME + WORK: 1 Esker Lawns, Lucan, Dublin, Ireland Tel: (H): +353-(0) or (M): +353-(0) <
