Guest guest
Anne, I find the need to become knowledgable as to proper protocol very important and missing from the average OM education. When you say that a DO got sued for not knowing, shame on them, not Medicare! Our country is going more and more toward either the have's or the have not's with more joining the later category every day. This brings up in my mind the need for a single payer, universal coverage system and hence the feeling of " Medicare for All " . For those who do not want to headaches and excuses that come from the HMO/insurance company, we need to speak up and get involved. Here in MN, we have proposed legislation so has CA. Nationally, the head of the AFL-CIO recently made a plea to Congress for the same. This might not seem ideal but it is far better than dealing with medical-insurance industry and much more affordable. Let's get back to providing care and not trying to convince the insurance co to pay us. What a waste of time, energy and financial resources. That's why we have the most expensive system in the world. Please include your references to the Medicare impact on LAc fees. I have not heard this previously. I would like to read it. On the other hand, HMO's recently got a huge multi-billion $ award from the federal govt over the next few years (decided by the Republicans behind closed doors). This award is a bonus beyond the actual cost of care (fleecing of America continues). Maybe we should be discussing this more and how we can affordably fit into America's healthcare system. Thanks for your time and interest. Mike W. Bowser, L Ac
