Many thanks for the tip. I had a look at their site but found nothing there

to solve my problem: how to capture characters in a PDF file if the file

is: (a) does not have the characters embedded in standard fonts; (b)

does not allow any copying or even printing; © is in graphic format (like

a photocopy).

 

I surfed to a PDF to DOC converter, called BCL JADE and will give that

a try.
