Guest guest
Is there anything more that can be said about the translation 'shunt'? If one is shunting the Qi at a point, is there the idea that it is being directed into more dispersed or superficial meridians, like the network vessels? ---roseanne s. Guest guest
According to Sensei Ikeda, xie4 (the original character in the Nei Jing) is defined as " 1) the process used to free the movement of stuck qi, blood and fluids 2)N the process used to resupply areas lacking in qi, blood and fluids 3) the process whereby the yin qi of the qi, blood and fluids is increased and the yang qi is decreased or inhibited " . Based on this understanding, one could say that one is moving qi from one channel to another via network vessels, or divergent vessels.
