any book recommendations?

Hello everyone,

I am currently looking for a not-to-thick practitioner level book which

gives point suggestions for western diseases (for example back pain,

headaches, common flue) and also lists Acupuncture point combinations.

Any suggestions?

Alafia Omo Obatala Oyabale

Se Dada Ni? Se Alafia Ni?

Touchy subject as there really ought not to be any such book available, if I

understand your question. TCM differentiation and diagnosis, whether eight

principle or five element should always be the approach, whether it is pain or

the flu. Differentiation and diagnosis is what determines the point

prescription. Headache, for example, could be of many causes with imbalances in

more than one channel. Flu could be wind heat, wind cold, etc.

Are you a student?

Se Alafia Ni Ogundara!

What a pleasant surprise! Yes, I am a student in my first year. We

are working our way through " Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibation " at

the moment. This book as well as the " Manual of Acupuncture " always

mention " western diseases " for all the points listed...

I'm d to the daily digest version of the group. It would be

nice to hear from you off-list!

concise, relatively inexpensive and often overlooked is the late Paul

Zmiewski's Acumoxa Therapy vol. 1 & 2; vol. 2 specifically has basic

differentiations and points for the standard disease categories as

well as point combinations for all the patterns given in the Wiseman

Fundamentals.

A book for students that fits in your lab coat is:

" Zang Fu Principles and Diagnosis: Reference Guide for Advanced

Practitioners "

by Dunbar, Chelnic, Plovanich, Fian

The book is 4x7.5 and about 1/2 inch thick
