Guest guest
Dear Group, Does anybody know the CM actions of Zoloft? How does one determine a given pharmaceutical drug's actions in terms of CM? Any clues? Does anybody know of litterature containing systematic CM classification of pharmaceutical drugs? Thank you! Best regards, Thomas Sorensen L.Ac.
Guest guest
Hi Thomas, I wouldn't be able to give precise CM properties of Zoloft. I have a little bit of experience in giving Shiatsu treatments to people with mental health problems who are under more or less heavy medication. In general, those who are depressed and take anti-depresants tend to have their energy " asleep and slugish " (my subjective feeling of the energy). Often it is difficult to know what comes from what: condition or medication. But I have heard a few people tell me that the anti-depressants tend to make them feel sort of drowsy. Guest guest
Thomas, if you take resource material like the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) and work backwards from the most common signs and symptoms, you can derive the TCM pattern. Anti-depressants typically don't make patients sleepy, although Artemis has had that experience. By raising serotonin levels, they can increase reactivity of the patient-make them a little more emotionally labile, a little more anxious. Most antidepressants consume the Yin. Hope that helps, Gabrielle
