Guest guest
I find that herbs are much more effective than acupuncture for this condition. But I agree with Brian that Kiiko's protocol also helps- left Liv4/Lu 5 should clear pressure around left Stomach 24, where you will probably find a hard knot. Also, treat left inner thigh with massage-some needles on the Liver meridian wherever it is really sore. I'm not a big fan of Da Cheng Qi Tang. Don't rely too much on Da Huang. Modify using Zhi ke, Zhi shi, Jie Geng,(Lu/Li relationship) Sesame or Flax seed, maybe herbs to move qi in the abdomen, such as Da Fu Pi. If that patient is thirsty a lot and drinking a lot then moistening the stool with other agents, as well as moving qi, can be helpful. Some He Shou Wu will really moisten, but if she is damp already, be careful. Perhaps she needs to add some healthy fats to her diet, such as olive oil or borage or flax seed oil, rather than just seeds. Too much roughage can complicate things when there is already dryness and lack of motion. Running, ofcourse, is also excellent for constipation, but I guess that's ruled out with her pain. Warm water with lemon juice in AM helps some. She can massage the abdomen herself if you teach her how. to supplement your treatments. Hope that helps. I didn't read thorugh all the posts. It's midnight and I've been messing with my website and making things worse.
