Guest guest
hello all- looking for herbal advice. i have an infertility patient who went off birth control about 4 months ago, and began taking Clomid last month (unfortunately). she didn't get pregnant, but it has given her an ovarian cyst (and therefore high estrogen levels). so she is unable to take Clomid this month and would like herbs to resolve the cyst but not interfere in case she happens to get pregnant this month. she is 35 years old, with kidney yin xu and liver qi stagnation. i did notice her pulse became slippery 2 weeks ago, and she developed a thick white coat on her tongue. normally her pulse is thin, thready, with the Ki yin position vacuous. i have the next 2 weeks to treat her with herbs, before she starts Clomid again next month. however, she is now on Day 9 or 10, and i am unsure whether it is safe to transform & drain the damp post-ovulation, should she conceive. my thoughts for formulas wre Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan as well as a " modern " formula called Xia Ku Hua Tan Pian (see below) that may be more phlegm-resolving (considering the phlegmy signs). i understand that GZFLW is classically for treatmetn during pregnancy, but this isn't exactly during pregnancy. ideally the formula would help both the cyst AND her fertility. is this possible? if standard cyst-resolving formulas are unsafe in the case of conception, is there a formula that would boost her fertility but not aggravate the cyst? or would it be sort of pointless to treat her fertility only during the latter half of the cycle? the ingredients of Xia Ku Hua Tan Pian are: xia ku cao, dan shen, huang qi, yi yi ren, bai jiang cao, zao jiao ci, kun bu, xuan shen, huang qin, chen pi, xiang fu, bai shao, dang gui, rou gui, and xu duan. thank you, experts! best, fiamma
