Sauerkraut cure for killer bird flu

The Sun is the only national newspaper to report the news that researchers

from Seoul believe that Sauerkraut contains a bacteria that can help fight

bird flu. Sales of the food are expected to rise following the news. The

properties are also thought to help fight cancer. A study found that eleven

out of 13 chickens infected with avian flu which were fed fermented cabbage

showed signs of recovery within a week. Experts believe that the vital

bacteria is created during the fermenting process - which gives the dish

health-boosting qualities. Professor Kang Saouk made the discovery during

research with a team from the National University in Seoul.
