Guest guest
I have a patient coming in tomorrow who has just had a stillbirth delivery at 8 months. Her bleeding has subsided today, she delivered on Saturday night. Her biggest worry, both physically and emotionally is for when her milk comes in. I wonder if anyone has treated this before and if you have any tips for stopping/slowing lactation. Thanks for any input. Stace

Another textbook strategy is to use 120 g of mai ya daily, divided into 30-60 g doses. Either dry-fried or raw mai ya can be used, and sometimes the two are used 50:50. Eric See the full monograph from Chen & Chen at http://tinyurl.com/ap365 One of its sections says: Inhibition of lactation: 163 women who wanted to stop lactation immediately postpartum were treated with a 400 mg capsule of Huajiao [Pc Zanthoxyli bungeani] tid for 3-4 days, with a 93.9% effectiveness. The capsule was prepared by grinding Huajiao into powder and placing it in capsules. Best regards, Tel: (H): +353-(0) or (M): +353-(0) Ireland.
