Guest guest
Hi All, Please excuse the last two botched-up emails. I was experiencing technical difficulties... I've been reading on various e-discussion lists about various means of promotion that don't work, and I have some questions about folks' success with methods that I haven't seen in the discussion: talk radio and networking groups. I've been a member of two different business networking groups, and I haven't received many valid referrals from them. Has anyone had positive experience using this form of promotion? If so, I'd like to hear about it. Just yesterday, I was offered (solicited) an opportunity to have a monthly question-and-answer spot on a local talk radio show. It's something I've dreamed of doing, but I don't know if it's financially practical. It is extremely expensive. Has anyone done this? If so, I'd love to hear about your experiences. You may contact me on or off-list. With thanks and blessings, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine 753 N. Guest guest
I'd like to toss my 2 cents into this discussion. There are two things that I know to work really well in promoting your practice. The first one is difficult in my state of Texas, but may be more workable in other locales. That is to network with the physicians in your area nad get them to refer there difficult cases to you. In Texas, generally speaking, physicians will not freely associate with acupuncturists, so this option has proven difficult down here. That leaves option B, which I GAURANTEE will help to build any practice, and that is to go out into yoru community and talk about what you do. Most of the people in the US have not had acupuncture before, and so the majority of new patients that there are to be had are the one's for whom all of this is brand new, and probably a little bit, well . . . . . foreign. So, de-mystify it. Let the people in your community know what you do IN PERSON, not in print. Give a talk, do a health and wellness screening at your local health food store. Find support groups in your area for the types of diseases taht you like to treat and give a lecture about the benefits of OM for their condition. When you tell people the value of what you offer, and then give them an opportunity to try it, your business will grow.
