Guest guest
Hello Phil, Just returned back from the 40 years of clinical practice pearls by Dr. Xie's mentor.HEre are some things unclarified that I learned and that you might be interested in. Chinese used Tagites, Wan Shou Ju the African Mariogold to make the chickens egg yolks more orange.I am not sure how that worked as the tagetone in the flower has toxicity properties and photo toxic.Originially, I thought perhaps there were alot of bioflavinoids.....they also used Agastache, Huo Xiang to treat diarrheas, this is the Anise Hyssop correct? and something I found interesting, they used Lonicera Syrup Jin Yin Hua, honeysuckle syrup to treat mites in bees, I wonder if this could be used to treat hives infected with tracheal mites? They used sulfur on everything to beef up their size, I found this interesting as Sulfur is one of the polycrest remedies in homeopathy for the treatment of Psora diseases.........Also, they used realgar, Xiong Huang, arsenic sulfide, ruby sulfur? and amomium is this Hou Pu, Magnolia Officianlis? I need to get which herb specifically was used and the different applications. They even treated fighting crickets for constipation! Just thought you would be interested in this stuff.Sincerely,P.Jordan,DVM,CVA,CVH > " " < >Chinese Medicine > , vBMA >CC: pa-l , pVA-L , >traditional_Chinese_Medicine > Online data on acupoints & herbs for Zangfu Syndromes >Mon, 17 Oct 2005 22:37:20 +0100 > >Hi Brian, & All, > >I have edited data on Acupoints & Herbal formulas for Zangfu Patterns >from cyberandsons.com and uploaded the edited file to >http://homepage.eircom.net/~progers/zangfu_hbs_pts.xls > >Please feedback your comments on the clinical accuracy / usefulness of >these data to the List, or to me < > >[Re persistent parasites/GI infections], Brian wrote: > > Oregano leaf extract, and grapefruit seed extract are a couple of > > anti-parasite remedies. Jinyinhua Syrup is used to treat mites in bees? Are you SURE it was the MITES, or was it the diseases (BACTERIAL and VIRAL) to which mite-infested bees succumb? http://www.psu.edu/ur/2005/beemite.html says that mite infestation reduces bee resistence to infections. See: : " Bee Mites Suppress Bee Immunity, Open Door For Viruses And Bacteria: May 17, 2005: University Park, Pa. – A non-native bee mite is causing the dramatic and sudden collapse of bee colonies across the country, but Penn State researchers believe they have found the combination of factors that triggers colony deaths which includes suppression of the bee immune system by the mites. The Varroa destructor mite is a honey bee parasite that feeds much like a tick on the body of a bee. The mites are about the size of a pinhead, dark brown in color and visible on close inspection. This bee mite probably arose in the Eastern or Chinese Honey Bee population and hopped over to the United States in 1987. They quickly infested western or European honey bees. One sign of infection is the presence of bees with deformed wings. Also, sometimes seemingly healthy colonies become ill and the complete hive collapses in about two weeks. " The native Chinese bees do not have the same problems, " says Dr. Xiaolong Yang, post doctoral researcher in entomology and plant pathology, who raised bees in China. " I do not recall seeing deformed wing bees in the Chinese bee.Chinese honey bees have grooming behavior which can remove the mites from the bees. They get rid of the mites. " While researchers know that the Varroa mite is behind the death of bee colonies, the mechanism causing the deaths is still unknown.Yang and Dr. Diana L. Cox-Foster, Penn State professor of entomology, now believe that a combination of bee mites, deformed wing virus and bacteria is causing the problems occurring in hives across the country. " Once one mite begins to feed on a developing bee, all the subsequent mites will use the same feeding location, " says Cox- Foster " Yang has seen as many as 11 adult mites feeding off of one bee.Other researchers have shown that both harmful and harmless bacteria may infect the feeding location.
