Group Announcement

in the Twenty First Century

With Lonny S. Jarrett

London Teaching: 8th-11th June 2006

The author of the Shen Nong Ben Cao, China's oldest herbal text, stated that

the highest type of medicine helped humans fulfil their destiny, the middle

type helped them nourish the constitution, and the lowest type treated

physical illness. Today, treating people for the nourishment of original

nature and the fulfilment of destiny represents an important inner tradition

which has been all but lost in the modern practice of Traditional Chinese

Medicine.

The intention of Lonny's teaching is to give a student core grounding in the

perspective of the Inner Tradition. Constitutional diagnosis will be

examined as an organizing framework that yields deep insights into each

patient's destiny and the path of their healing. The inner functions of

acupuncture points will also be discussed; through an exploration of the

rich imagery found within point names.

Traditional diagnosis will be covered in detail during the first two and

half days, including an orientation toward the pulse from the perspective of

the inner tradition. The last day and a half of the course will be clinical

in nature and Lonny will diagnose 3 patients in front of the class. This

will involve 2 full consultations and one full pulse diagnosis. A complete

analysis of each patient will follow including a detailed treatment plan.

Participation in this seminar is suitable for practitioners from any

tradition and level of training who wish to deepen their perspective on the

art of their practice.

“A human being is part of the whole, called by us the Universe, a part

limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and

feelings, as something separated from the rest - - a kind of optical

illusion in his consciousness.” (Albert Einstein)
