Guest guest Posted September 7, 2005 Report Share Posted September 7, 2005 Hi all, Recently saw a quite interesting case of a 65 year old male who contracted small pox in January 2005 that caused pox blisters on his left arm. He spent two weeks in a hospital isolation ward and when discharged developed severe neuralgia in the pox-marked arm. Has anyone ever heard of neuralgia following small pox? There have been some cases of small pox caused by the vaccine, but I don't have enough information yet be sure just what is going on in this case. I at first thought he was talking about shingles, but he denies this and would not have been put in isolation. I hope to get the right information in the next few days and just wondered if anyone had heard anything like this before.
