moxa smoke and pregnancy

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows of any research or even an opinion on moxa smoke

and pregnancy, that is continual exposure to moxa smoke like a pregnant

acupuncturist or their aid or patient using it at home for morning sickness?

With all the research out there on cigarette smoke and pregnancy causing

allergies, asthma and I'm sure more serious things in the baby I've wondered

about moxa, of course the moxa is not ladened with 3000 chemicals like a

cigarette is but I'm sure it still must be harmful to the fetus and possibly the

mother? I would love to hear any opinions on this matter or if anyone has heard

of any research. Thank you very much.

hi maureen

it is less the chemical content and more the 5 e pattern of fire on metal

if moxa is in any manner frequent and prolonged, a 5 e damage is a

possibility for mother & child

mother has her metal open

child has it shut

i tend to paranoia when protecting patients is concerned

if you were my case i would suggest no exposure to moxa out of hand

if one feels adventurous, it is at the cost of a small baby who can't

fend for itself

hope this helps
