Guest guest
You really don't think the coherence is a factor in penetration depth? How much heat does this thing produce? Is it all hand held? Has this become a commercial exchange and outside the boundries of this forum? >>>>>> Its not my opinion regarding coherence having no additional penetration, its what the literature and the science shows. I am not sure what you mean about this thing, but LEDs can become work or hot. We use a fan to cool them, its very important because LEDs loose a lot of the power if they get too hot. Usually they put out a comfortable heat Oakland, CA 94609
Guest guest
Howdy again Alon, Of course when I ask " in your opinion " it refers to your digestion of the data available to you. It has seemed to me that there is difference of opinion within the photobiomodulation " community " about depth of penetration. Which studies would you direct me to specifically? I believe that you had sited one previously, but I could not find it so quickly. Otherwise I asked about the heat as I remembered the bales unit as having some specific info. on energy as heat emitted from their unit. I can imagine that heat only makes the effect more Moxa like. I am looking to melt trigger points, get more tissue play, etc. Heat and light have a good track record vis. moxa, minus the essential oils, this type of therapy should be our provenance. Zhen and Jiu sp?. I just want to overcome the last hurdles of disbelief that LED and Laser are not dramatically different in effect. Otherwise sign me up. Bales used to work for NASA and his information, i believe, has not been published. He is a close friend of one of the MDs i work with so i get to ask him many questions. But i can have you do an easy experiment. Infrared laser and LEDs can light up a special card. For all the people that claim how deep these penetrate just take the IR card and put it near the palm of your hand and then put the laser on the dorsal side. You will be surprised to see that so little energy passes that the card will not or just barely light up. You loose 1000th of the energy for every mm of penetration because the beam disperses immediately. Oakland, CA 94609
