Guest guest
Hi Pete Sorry, that was unclear...it was a reference to the supervisor I had whilst at college, who I still have occasional contact with. Having said that, however, it's not uncommon in the UK for practitioners to have supervision from a qualified supervisor. The format is usually one to one or a group meeting where you have the opportunity to discuss / reflect on aspects of ones practice. The supervision model is perhaps more common in counselling / psychotherapy - indeed I think it's a statutory requirement for those guys. I'm sure you have something similar over there - maybe under a different name...mentoring perhaps? jason Hi Jason! Unclear what sort of a business you would be running if you have a supervisor. In the US the practitioner is his own supervisor. If you have a supervisor you have a job, not a practice. You must have a sort of model that we yanks don't understand, perhaps you could explain it? I have a SCORE (Service Corps Of Retired Executives) counselor who is *supposed* to teach me how to make money doing what I do. Hasn't worked. Guest guest
Anne, Yes, it does help -- esp to have the ISBN. Am in the process of 'restarting' my practice in New Mexico and it is slow (d/t being in an area with 2 schools and lots of other DOMs, as well as this being a slow time of year). I do have great faith which keeps me going. Smile. Again, thank you for sharing this info. Kathleen Anne Crowley <blazing.valley wrote: Kathleen: Jason has mentioned the title of the one I read " Building You Ideal Private Practice. " LYnn Grodzki,ISBN 0393-70331-2. She wrote one after this, have not read it, just glanced at it and this first one seemed to be what I was looking for. Hope this helps, Anne Kathleen Mathews wrote: > Anne and Jason, > > In checking, Lynn Grodski has a couple of books with a similar titles > --- can you give the exact, total name of the book to which you refer? > > Thanks. > Kathleen > > Anne Crowley <blazing.valley wrote: > I believe that was me, Jason.
