I have fibromyalgia and would be curious to see what your recommendations are - I take several supplements - vitamin E, Ester C, B12, B complex, Magnesium, Omega 3 oils, Glucosamine Chondroitin with MSM - in addition to this I take home made Lemon Balm tincture several times daily - I drink decaffinated tea and drink lots of herbal teas. I do have trouble sleeping and do take Rx Ambien, but there are times when all I need is 1/2 of Ambien - Wellbutrin small dose for depression (another complement to the Fibro) and 1/2 xanax (all fibro people have disturbed sleep patterns) I take Flexeril (muscle relaxant when needed)- How good is Valerian for sleeping - I have used Melatonin but it gives me nightmares.

I am a strong believer in alternative medicine and am in fact a student at Clayton College of Natural Health. I only take Dr. Rx's when absolutely needed.

Also, how the heck do you get off of sugar LOL - that is a tough one for me - but I wax and wane over the use of it. Would rather use pure sugar than substitutes on the market today.

Thanks!

Hi Katherine: I used to give very deep tissue massages to a client that had Fibromyalgia and it seem to work for her. I would recommend finding out if you have candida, parasites, any murcury poisoning, hypothyroid and or low sugar. Stay away from white flour and sugars. Co Q10 in good 75 mg a day, Co Q10 oxygenates the tissues. Lecithin, Maganese, mega doses of Vitamin C like 5,000 or more a day. Grape seed extract and garlic. Change your diet, no junk foods, fried foods and sweets. Eat raw organic fruit and veggies. If you cannot digest raw veggies steam them just for a minute or two. Brown rice is good. Be well, Megan I have

I have an idea to help you sleep-naturally. I make my own cough syrup out of whorehound. It has a natural senative in it. When my kids or I have a problem with cough, sore throat, even sleeping, we take a spoonful to 1/4 c of this syrup. It really works. I live in Nevada and it grows naturally out here. Near streams and rivers. It only has 3 ingredients in it. The whorehound- cut a bunch and put in a large pot. Cover leaves and stems with water. Let simmer on medium for about an hour or so. Strain and you have this green liquid. For every quart I add up to 4 cups of raw sugar. Let it simmer down till it starts to thicken. Thats it. Save in jars. You can add molassas to help with the taste. Yes its bitter but it works. You sleep real good and not grogy the the next day. I got this recipe from euell gibbins. Good Luck

I have a natural remedy for helping a person sleep without taking anything, it's called water therapy, you take your normal shower before going to bed, as you rinse yourself off turn the water to as cold as you can take it, stand under it for 2 mins, then return it back to warm. Alternating water temps help regulate your body temp. You will feel refreshed and then start to feel relaxed, this will help you sleep and you will wake up feeling awaken.
